You should pay around 10-12 dollars to transfer and the same for a years registration. Your hosting account should be running a range of 4-9 dollars per month depending on term of the contract. You should be able to open a support ticket at any time and get any questions answered and look for discounts on multiple transfers and registrations.

So find yourself a good basket and put all those eggs in one place.
