Are you tired of going on an egg hunt every couple of months? Well what you need to do is stop hiding your eggs in all those different places.
You all know what I mean, you get this great idea for a domain name and register it with whoever is running a deal on domain names at the time. After a while you realize you own 10 or 20 domain names and they are scattered around the internet like Easter Eggs waiting to be found. Then you get an email from GoDaddy, Host Gator, or Worlds Most Trusted Hosting telling you that you need to renew yourname.com. Hmmm.. Now where did I write down that password?
Well, don't you think it's about time you got all your eggs in one basket?
All of the hosting companies out there will make a transfer for you and it is relatively painless. When you first register a name with a registrar they will usually lock it for a period of time, anywhere from 60days to a year. What this means is that you cannot transfer your name away from them until that period is expired. This is one reason people end up with a bunch of those eggs scattered all around, they decide they want to change and see they are locked and say "I'll do it later" and never get back to it.
So stop hunting eggs and start out by finding a good quality reliable basket, then go out and gather the eggs one last time, put them into your new basket and you will easiy manage all your domains in one place. The basket you use should offer to bring your eggs in at little or no cost to you if you sign up with the hosting accounts so be sure you look at all the little add ons and up charges before you sign up. You should pay around 10-12 dollars to transfer and the same for a years registration. Your hosting account should be running a range of 4-9 dollars per month depending on term of the contract. You should be able to open a support ticket at any time and get any questions answered and look for discounts on multiple transfers and registrations.
So find yourself a good basket and put all those eggs in one place.
